Meditation through movement & sound. Summer Workshop (Monday am)
I am offering three two-hour summer workshops (all Monday mornings) where we go a little deeper into an area of yoga. Other dates are July 20th Balance and July 27th – Inversions.
Meditation…usually portrayed as seated, following the breath, not attaching to our thoughts, and “emptying our mind” (impossible…)
Yes, that IS meditation…but we can be meditative (being in the here and now, fully present) through movement, breath, sound and by focusing on an object.
So this 2 hour summer workshop will be an invitation to explore and experience meditation in all those forms.
We will:-
- Move mindfully
- Allow pranayama to guide us into a quiet, reflective space.
- Experience simple sound and chant – to quieten the mind but bring us into the present
- Walk mindfully
- Eat and drink mindfully.
- A 90 minute practice and then time for tea, cake and socialising (having first mindfully eaten cake!)
- Open to all – beginners and experienced.
